While the first national moot court took place in Leipzig, it will now be hosted in Cologne.

Key element of the moot court is the preparation of a concluding statement. Two students of each team will pose as the Attorney General, the other two will take the position of the defense. The teams receive the facts of a case, which – amongst other subjects – focuses on digitalisation as well as commercial criminal law, on 1 February 2020, leaving them time to prepare their statement for three months. All teams are advised by one trained supervisor. The moot court takes place at the University of Cologne, the finals will be held at the Oberlandesgericht in Cologne. As last year, the Moot Court will be held before a top-class jury of practitioners from the judiciary. Finally, the day will be spent with all other participants in a joint evening event.

Prizes include a one-year subscription of the JuS and several book prizes.
